Times are changing, fads are always recycling. Bell
bottoms, big hair, big sunglasses and fitted suites.
They came; they left and guess what? There here
again. Hardwood flooring has been around for years
until the people started covering them up with
wonderfully colored carpet.
One of the main reasons for the rise of the carpet
industry was because of the improper constructions
of the facilities that the hardwood was in. Houses
were drafty and the cold always seemed find its way
in the homes and even old buildings. The end result
was the peoples feet were getting cold. For that
reason people started covering their hardwood
floors. Because of the advancement in building
construction and energy efficient technology,
hardwood floors started to make its way back. As the
times changed so did the production of hardwood
floors. Many, many moons ago, people used to wax
their floors in order to make them shine. After a
while the wax would ware down and soon after people
would find themselves waxing again. With the
introduction of finishes, manufactures can now offer
25-30yrs ware warranty of there products. Other
species were introduced as well. Stained colors
became endless. The perceived value of hardwood
started to grow in the eye of the consumer.
Renovations of the older homes started to increase.
People began removing the carpet and re-finishing
the hardwood underneath, most even staining the
existing hardwood a different color.
Hardwood floors have become the floors of desire. No
more run down traffic areas, no stains and most of
all the elimination of dust collecting below the
surface of the floor and causing allergy
irritations.
